When it comes to the hottest drinkware trends, stainless steel travel mugs and enamel-like finishes are leading the way, according to 4imprint’s drinkware guru.

Mae, our Merchandising Department’s expert on beverage containers, has been attending trade shows and watching what’s happening with drinkware in retail stores. Her observations about the hottest drinkware trends will help you select the perfect promotional water bottles and coffee mugs.

Enamelware is hot.

“Campfire/enamel-look finishes are making a huge comeback in drinkware,” said Mae when we talked to her after the show. “One of our items that has been around for years is once again on our top-seller list: the Campfire Ceramic Mug. Based on the success of this mug, we have launched other products that have the same look and feel, just in different sizes and shapes.” Available products with a similar feel include the Metal Mug and travel tumbler are available, too.

Stainless steel shines.

Double-wall vacuum stainless steel travel mugs continue to sell well, “driven in large part off the retail brand crazes you see in many retail stores,” Mae said. “We have been busy keeping up with the new colors that are constantly being added to our best-selling items, including the h2go® Force Vacuum Bottles and the Hugo travel mugs. Another new look for stainless drinkware is adding a stock graphic that surrounds your logo. It creates a whole different look and feel for your next promotion. Our Viking Vacuum Tumbler is available with four stock graphic themes. Watch for additional fall and holiday graphics later this year.”

Bright new bottle and can holders.

“Another big trend I saw at the Chicago Housewares Show that is all over retail lately is a stainless steel beverage holder that accommodates a can or bottle to help keep it colder longer,” Mae explained. “Some of these items even double as a drink tumbler with a travel lid as well.” What a great two-in-one product idea for double the promotional value!

4imprint’s exclusive Refresh® brand adds a splash of color!

Name-brand water bottles from Contigo®, CamelBak® and BlenderBottle® continue to sell well and are ideal for wellness and event promotions, Mae noted. Retail brands Arctic Zone and Takeya® have been added to 4imprint’s drinkware lineup, too. “This year, 4imprint launched our own exclusive brand of drinkware called Refresh, which I am very proud and excited about. The Refresh brand is all about bright colors, smart styling and, best of all, great value,” she explained. Other retail brands—like Igloo®, Coleman® and BUILT NY®—are expanding their drinkware lines, too, and these could show up in promotional lines as well.
