People often refer to a logo as the face of a brand. But like a person, the face isn’t the only thing that defines your brand. Personality is just as important. Your brand personality lets customers, employees and the community know who you are. Is your company serious? Silly? Budget friendly? Defining and sharing your brand personality makes it easier for customers to find you. Plus, it makes your organization more memorable. If it sounds like a daunting task, don’t worry. We have tips—and some unique branded swag—to help you get the job done.

Figure out your brand

Before you put your personality out there, you need to decide how your brand should be represented. Decide if your company is fun and silly or serious and formal. Is it focused on finding the best value or on finding the highest quality? Do you want to give off a mature vibe or a youthful one? Companies can have just as many personality traits as people. Knowing who you are will help you find your ideal customers and employees.

If you’re not entirely sure how to explain your organization’s personality, do some research. Talk to your department heads and see how they perceive the company. Or ask your employees to fill out a survey. As a thank you for feedback, offer a Slim Pocket Multi-Tool or Reusable Silicone Straw in Keychain Case.

Create a brand guide for staff

Once your company’s brand is defined, make sure the staff understands your expectations. For example, here at 4imprint, we use a compass to define and share the eight employee characteristics we value most. All our employees are aware of the compass and use it to guide their interactions with clients and one another.

Hold a company meeting to discuss the company’s values, mission and personality. Unique branded swag, like a Banner Pen, gives everyone an easy way to reference important points. You may also consider an Organizer Foam Puzzle Cube or Desk Caddy Set that can stay on their desks as a reminder.

Decide on your audience

Now that your company personality is set—and your employees are on board—it’s time to figure out who else should know. Letting the community know who you are is a good first step, but don’t forget about attracting new customers and job candidates.

Communicate your message to all three with a tried-and-true method—provide giveaways at local events. Networking with unique branded giveaways is an ideal way to get people talking (and listening) to you. Match your giveaway to your brand’s personality. If you’re a fun company, hand out a Fun On the Go – Tic Tac Toe. If your company is focused on sustainability and environmental causes, hand out the Recycled Tire Bookmark.

If you’re looking to reach a wider audience, go the traditional route and mail them a gift. The Credit Card Size Magnifier goes great with a letter explaining your brand.

Know your budget

If you’re working with a limited budget, consider an X-Tend Spring Back Banner or Value Indoor Banner. Place the banner in a prominent place (like your entrance) to display your values or mission statement to everyone who passes by.

Another fun way to share your company’s personality is to give everyone in your company a Value Lapel Pin or Econo Lapel Pin that displays your company’s motto or most important value. These giveaways keep your personality close to their heart.

Show them what’s on the inside

Ready to show the world your brand’s personality? With the aid of your employees and unique branded swag, you can let your brand personality shine.
