Nonprofit organizations are tasked with a big challenge: change the world for the better. And they’re doing it through small everyday acts of kindness and hard work. These organizations make a big difference in the lives they touch. And giveaways for nonprofit organizations can help make those impacts a little bigger.

These four stories show how different organizations used nonprofit promotional giveaways provided by a 4imprint one by one® grant. With help from these items, charitable organizations provide supportive services, from youth empowerment training to no-cost laundry for families in need and more. Keep reading for stories that may touch your heart and provide inspiration for your own nonprofit.

Giving youth real-world experience

Urban Roots partners with teens—many from low-income backgrounds—to provide job experience and training, from help writing resumes and practicing public speaking, to interning in urban gardens and professional kitchens. These young people are given the opportunity to hone skills, such as entrepreneurship, food preparation and horticulture, while learning from industry professionals.

Reusable cutlery sets provided by the one by one nonprofit promotional giveaway grant were used to draw attention at the Minnesota State Fair. The reusable nature of the cutlery was a perfect fit with their program’s emphasis on sustainability and conservation.

Providing crucial mental health support

NAMI Billings helps individuals and families affected by mental illness. As a local affiliate of the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI), this organization provides critical support for those affected by anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and other mental illnesses with online and in-person support groups, as well as educational classes for their loved ones and healthcare professionals.

Thanks to the one by one grant, NAMI Billings was able to order sport flyers and pens that were given out at events. These items helped draw attention to NAMI Billings’ table and open the door for people to ask questions and learn more about the services it provides. Plus, the items serve as a reminder that NAMI Billings is there to help if the need for mental health services arises.

Instilling confidence with equine therapy

Saddle Up! provides opportunities for therapeutic horseback riding for individuals ages 2-26 with autism, cerebral palsy, emotional and behavioral challenges and developmental disabilities. Participants bond with their horses and gain confidence and independence while enjoying physical benefits, like improved core strength, posture, breathing and motor skills.

Through the one by one grant, the organization was able to provide branded T-shirts for its 350 active volunteers who help make their work possible. These shirts were a great way to show appreciation for the volunteers who help change lives every day without taking funds away from the organization’s mission.

Washing away discomfort

Operation Clean Duds helps ensure families facing tough circumstances have clean clothes to wear. The nonprofit partners with local laundromats to host free laundry events, where families are invited to use detergent, dryer sheets and quarters—all provided at no cost—to wash and dry their clothing. The organization also partners with other local nonprofits to provide additional resources, like grocery gift cards or educational sessions at the laundry events.

Promotional laundry bags, obtained through the one by one grant, are given to families so they have a place to store their newly cleaned clothes. The bags are light and easy to carry, making them a convenient way to transport clothes to and from the laundromat.
