Your customers are frequently on the move, whether it’s for a business trip, a weekend adventure or a well-deserved, long-distance vacation. Promotional backpacks, totes, toiletry bags and backpacks are bound to be appreciated—and used—by all your clients.

Melanie is part of our Merchandising Department, and she spends a lot of time looking at the latest travel bag trends. She has some tips for selecting the perfect items to get your brand more advertising mileage.

Work trips: Keep them organized

Backpacks have become the preferred travel bag for many business workers, Melanie says. “Good ones will offer a special protective space for laptops, room for a change of clothes and special organizers that keep cords and travel documents organized and easily accessible.” They should also be comfortable and easy to carry but still look professional. Make sure they arrive in style with the Briston Carry-On Backpack. The inside looks like a suitcase. If they’re flying, the elleven Underseat 17″ Laptop Backpack is a great choice. It’s designed to fit under a plane seat and has a special compartment to keep clothing organized and wrinkle-free. Most airports require passengers to remove their laptops from their bags during the security check. Make it easy with the High Sierra® Elite Fly-By Laptop Backpack. It has a distinctive clamshell design.  And a bag like the Overland 17” Laptop Backpack ensures they’re always connected.  It has a USB port built right in!

Weekend getaways: Help them pack light

Duffels and weekender style bags offer the perfect amount of space for your shorter trips. They nicely fit a few days of clothing, change of shoes and all your toiletries without having to carry around a traditional suitcase.  Help them pack light in style. Melanie recommends a smaller bag like the durable Graphite 21” Weekender Duffel (#138729) and the elegant Alternative® Premium Weekender Duffel (#131315). And don’t forget toiletry kits and travel bags like the BRIGHTtravels Hanging Utility Kit (#128452) and the Serenity Cosmetic Case (#131531). They are practical, affordable advertising gifts that everyone will appreciate and use.

Day trips: Ensure they can relax

Spending even a few hours away from home requires planning. Bags with special features can take the stress out of days on the beach, boating adventures and walks in the parks. Beachgoers will appreciate the mesh bottom on the Playa Del Mar Mesh Tote and Mesh All-Purpose Utility Tote. Sand won’t get trapped in these bags! A day on the boat requires a roomy bag for towels and snacks, like the Capri Stripes Cotton Tote, and something to hold drinks, like the Jubilation Cooler. Picnics are a walk in the park with the Igloo® Tundra Cooler. Turn up the volume on their event with the Arctic Zone® Titan Deep Freeze Bluetooth® Speaker Cooler. It has a pair of mounted speakers built in!

Long trips: See that they get creative

A weeklong getaway—or longer—requires a bigger bag and creative packing. Melanie urges everyone to think inside the box with packing cubes. “Once you travel with them, you won’t go back,” she says. They are often sold in different sizes to maximize space and reduce wrinkles. Try the Lightweight Packing Cubes or BRIGHTtravels Set of 3 Packing Cubes. Stress the importance of keeping personal information safe from thieves by giving them a wallet with RFID protection, like the Modena Slim RFID Passport Wallet. And don’t forget to supply a packable bag for all the souvenirs they’ll be bringing home. Melanie recommends the Ripstop Stow and Go Duffel and the Eagle Creek Packable Backpack Tote. Travel Waist Packs (also known as fanny packs) are making a comeback!  They also can be worn cross-body for a more modern take, and the small size makes them convenient, handy and essential, a welcome addition while out sightseeing.
