Getting the word out with promotional pen giveaways
“Helping law enforcement get criminals off our streets and bringing justice to victims of crime” is the mission for Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas. This 100% citizen-based organization is a link between the community and law enforcement agencies. From homeowners to students to senior citizens, Crime Stoppers helps fight crime and makes the community a better place to live. Now they’re getting some help spreading their message from promotional pen giveaways, purchased with the 4imprint® one by one® grant.
Passing safety information to the community
Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas strives to guarantee safety and security in the community for people of all ages. Using a communication system that guarantees anonymity, they encourage citizens to report criminal activity. Crime Stoppers then connects with law enforcement agencies to take action. Having a citizen-based organization to talk to makes it less scary and intimidating than contacting law enforcement directly. “People can communicate with us through three different ways,” Stephanie Vanskike said. “They can call our phone number, go online on our website or use our app. It is very easy, and we do not track numbers to respect people’s anonymity.”
In order to spread the word about their mission and to provide information to the community on crime prevention and safety, Vanskike and her team participate in public meetings and conferences. They discuss safety at home, in school and in the community. The organization has used the Bic Clic Stic Pen as a leave behind reminder of who to call when criminal activity is spotted. To help ease the strain on their budget, Vanskike and her team requested a one by one grant to purchase more promotional pen giveaways that would display their contact information.
“During our talks, people use our personalized ink pens to take notes on their notepads,” Vanskike explained. “It creates a connection between safety information, us and them in the future. As they keep these materials by their phone at home or in their purse, it reminds them to call us when they see suspicious activity.”
A great reminder wherever you go
Thanks to the grant, the organization no longer has to restrict the number of pens they give away, helping ensure more people are aware of their services. Getting more people engaged will make the fight for safety easier.
