Sometimes it’s the little things that make a big difference.

When a loved one dies, getting transportation to the memorial service is often an afterthought. But for someone with limited mobility the situation can be far more complex and disheartening. Lambton Elderly Outreach recently helped a client facing that challenge. “We were able to bring that person to the visitation, to the service and … to the cemetery, so they were able to be a part of their spouse’s service in all respects,” explained Laura Domingos, transportation coordinator for the Ontario-based organization. “By being able to provide transportation to those with disabilities, we are able to provide them the dignity and respect they deserve by assisting them in living a non-restricted lifestyle.”
Transportation is only the beginning of the services this organization provides. Over the past 56 years, Lambton Elderly Outreach has constantly provided a wide variety of services to its 2,000+ clients: transportation, home health, Meals on Wheels, and personal support services to help seniors stay in their own homes for as long as possible. As a recipient of a 4imprint® one by one® grant, Lambton Elderly Outreach was able to order coffee mugs and junior padfolios, which they used as thank-you gifts for their volunteers and giveaways to prospective clients.
“We chose the portfolios because they were something that everybody could use, and everyone could benefit from,” Domingos explained. “We thought this was a great product and very convenient for everyone who is involved with our agency because of the diversity of the services we offer.”
