one by one®: Ionic Lodge Charitable Foundation

In Reisterstown, Maryland, the Ionic Lodge Charitable Foundation actively empowers local elementary and high school students by opening the door to greater educational opportunities. The Malcolm E. Carrick Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Backpacks for Kids program are the foundation’s dual pillars, each playing a crucial role in supporting local youth.

The Malcolm E. Carrick Memorial Scholarship Fund honors beloved high school alumnus, offering two graduating seniors a $500 scholarship each semester, renewable for up to eight terms. The foundation’s involvement doesn’t end with financial aid. “We stay in contact with the students throughout their scholastic career,” board member John Francis explained. “We offer mentorship, encouragement and other additional assistance, such as books, if they need it.”

Backpacks for Kids: Equipping young learners

Equally vital is the Backpacks for Kids program, which caters to local elementary students from financially challenged families. Each backpack is filled with school supplies and other items, like a water bottle, allowing recipients to focus on their education, not where they’ll get needed materials for school.

Golf event giveaways score a hole-in-one

More than 95 cents of every dollar donated directly supports the foundation’s programs. Its largest fundraiser, an annual golf tournament, has been enhanced for the past two years by the 4imprint one by one grant.

At last year’s tournament, baseballs hats were given to participants as tokens of gratitude. The excitement intensified at this year’s tournament with the introduction of backpack cooler chairs. This highly coveted multifunctional item was given to golfers who completed a special challenge on the golf course.

“The backpack cooler chairs were very popular, people loved them. We plan to use them again for next year’s fundraiser,” Francis said.
