one by one®: Individuals Making Progress Advancing Communities in Texas
Founded in 2014, Individuals Making Progress Advancing Communities in Texas (IMPACT Texas) is a public charity corporation that works to empower youth and families by making positive changes through social services. For nine of those years, it’s hosted a Backpack to School Bash, where 200-250 students in need receive filled backpacks, dental and hygiene kits, and healthy snacks. Attendees also have access to photo booth stations, face painting, growth charts, arts and crafts, and a teddy bear clinic provided by a local hospital and facilitated by healthcare professionals. IMPACT Texas has three programs that run concurrently with its Backpack to School Bash:
- IMPACT Nutrition, a hunger relief program, addresses food insecurity. Nutrition bags containing nonperishable food and produce are provided to families who attend the Backpack to School Bash.
- IMPACT Read to Succeed, a literacy educational program, promotes the power of reading. Free books are provided to children at the Backpack to School Bash.
- IMPACT Financial, a financial literacy program, connects families attending the Backpack to School Bash with a financial institution to assist in providing financial education and opening bank accounts. Participants are given a code to take care of the opening deposit of $1.00 and are offered a free checking account with a debit card.
Thanks to sponsorships, donations, fundraising and volunteers, the Pflugerville and Central Texas communities are helping to meet the needs of its youth. And those needs include entertainment too.
Event table covers help create a positive IMPACT
The annual Backpack to School Bash not only provides school supplies for families in need, but also a fun, engaging experience for students. As the corporation prepared for its tenth event, Stephanie Harris, founder of IMPACT Texas, recognized the importance of creating a professional, organized and welcoming appearance. With help from an event table cover, purchased with a one by one grant, IMPACT Texas can stand out and make a strong first impression on attendees. “4imprint provided No. [number] one customer service,” Harris said. “Everyone was so pleasant to work with on our table cover. It will be great to use at this positive, safe community program service.”
A branded representation of community
The addition of a table cover may seem small, but, for IMPACT Texas, it represents growth and success in serving its community over the past decade. It also serves as a reminder that a simple act of kindness, like providing a filled backpack to a student in need, can create positive change in a child’s life. As IMPACT Texas continues to make progress toward advancing the Pflugerville community, its new and improved branded presence will symbolize the corporation’s commitment to empowering youth and families.
