As the days get shorter and the nights get cooler, it’s time to start thinking about refreshing your branded apparel with fall options for staff, customers and prospects.

We checked in with Laurie, one of our branded apparel experts in 4imprint’s merchandising department, to find out the latest trends and popular styles of jackets, hoodies and sweatshirts.

“Stay warm and cozy in fleece or add a key layering piece, like a flannel shirt, sweater or shirt jacket, to go from warm days to cool nights,” Laurie said. “Puffer jackets and soft shells are key outerwear silhouettes that will show off your logo while keeping them stylish and warm.”

Fuzzy, soft fleece

“Fleece styles are must-haves as the weather starts to turn cool,” Laurie said. Fleece is a popular choice that’s sure to keep them cozy and your logo prominently displayed. Consider soft hoodies with fun detailing at the neck, like the Dayton Cross Neck Hoodie, or classic full-zip pieces, like the Gildan® Full-Zip Hoodie, as go-tos this fall.

Everything old is new again—at least with style. Printed crewneck sweatshirts, like the Gildan Softstyle Fleece Crew Sweatshirt, are sure to be winners. “They’re the cool kids of casual vintage style and look sharp layered over a collared dress shirt,” Laurie said.

A quarter-zip fleece sweatshirt with stand-up collar, such as the Jerzees® NuBlend ¼-Zip Sweatshirt, takes them “from day to night with no effort at all—it’s a sophisticated silhouette that elevates fleece beyond the familiar crews and hoodies,” Laurie explained.

Perfect puffers

“Staying warm doesn’t have to mean compromising style. Versatile puffers with detachable hoods (like the Hudson Quilted Hooded Jacket) will be a season favorite, while colorblocking and bright colors fight dreary gray skies,” Laurie said. “Plus, they can pack down for effortless storage—who says cold weather has to mean bulk?”

Put your brand on a stylish option, like The North Face® Everyday Insulated Puffer Jacket or Silverton Packable Insulated Jacket, and bring on the smiles! The Crossland® Packable Puffer Jacket is ideal for skiing and other outdoor activities.

Comfy soft shells

Popular and fashion-forward, soft-shell jackets typically combine soft fabrics with weather-resistant features that will stave off rain, snow and wind. “Soft-shell outerwear is well-loved for being flexible, sleek and functional,” Laurie said.

Fresh detailing, like the chunky zippers on the Tulsa Hooded Bonded Soft Shell Jacket, and the longer-length on the ladies’ Roots73® Napanee Soft Shell Jacket keep your logo looking great and your team warm.

Functional styles go with them—and your logo—everywhere. Try the Joris Soft Shell Jacket with a no-contact key in the pocket or the Crossland® Soft-Shell Jacket with wind and water resistance.

Easy layering options

“Nothing says fall like layers—and nothing layers like a good flannel,” said Laurie, citing the Burnside Snap-Front Flannel Shirt as the perfect example. “It stays popular by being versatile and mixing the best of fall colors. Worn under a vest or cardigan sweater, on top of a tee, or all on its own, you’ve got options for making sure your logo is at the front and center of fall fashion’s most-loved piece.”

Shirt jackets are a wonderful option for finicky, in-between weather. “Jersey- or fleece-lined styles, like the Harriton Denim Shirt-Jacket and the Stormtech® Avalanche Fleece Shirt Jacket, combine function and fashion,” Laurie said. They’ll stay comfortable (and look cool) both indoors and out.

“A good cardigan, like the Acrylic V-Neck Cardigan, is every kind of classy and comfortable,” she said. “With your logo on the front, you’ll have the best-looking team in a best-selling style.”
