Thank them for all they do! Celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, May 3-7

As the school year winds down, it becomes time to thank our educators for everything they have done throughout the year. A small token or gift can go a long way to show that their commitment and work is truly valued as they are educating, teaching and guiding our future leaders.

Although it is not easy to show how much you value them, there are some unique and clever ideas that they will appreciate and remember.

  • Have students write down special memories they’ve had of the year, either directly in a journal or on notepaper to insert into binder.
  • Give a photo book that can be used to compile memories of projects and events that occurred throughout the year.
  • Stuff a mug with something warm to start their day, like coffee, tea, or cocoa. Have the mug imprinted with ‘Teacher Appreciation 2010’ so they’ll remember the occasion all year long.
  • Add some color to their desktops with bright clocks and picture frames.  The picture frames can be used for their class photos or pictures of their families.
  • Give some practical school or office supplies that they’ll use everyday.  Stylish pens, fun highlighters, or USB’s are useful products they can’t live without.
  • Remind them how important they are with fun-shaped gifts that show they are an important piece of the puzzle.
