When we first launched our Brand with Ten Grand contest, we really didn’t know what to expect. The objective was to give someone a decent promotional products budget, work with them on ways to use the budget as part of their marketing plan, and then share the story with you as it evolved.
We knew that telling that story would no doubt spark ideas and debate. It would provide some real examples to help you retain customers, find new ones, improve the effectiveness of your marketing budget, and probably offer a good dose of ‘wow, I’m not the only person who’s had THAT situation come up’!
But we still wondered. Would we get any participation? What would the quality of the entries be? Would a winner emerge that we could really imagine helping us tell the story?
We quickly learned that participation and quality wouldn’t be an issue. After reading the first few hundred entries we could quickly see that there was plenty of thought and passion going into process.
Then we got to the videos.
We think our four finalists did an absolutely remarkable job creating videos that explained their mission and their reason for entering – but more importantly they offered an authentic vision of what they’re all about. And judging by the number of times the videos were viewed and voted on (literally thousands of times!) it would appear we’re not the only ones who feel that way!
