This is what each date on my travel calendar looks like. Color coding helps me know where I’ll be when or (after a long day of travel) where I actually am. (Visual learner.)
At the bottom of each date square are two words: ‘Dinner’ and ‘Hotel’. Dinner reminds me who I’m meeting for dinner, where and what time. The last thing I want to do when meeting suppliers is show up at the wrong place or wrong time. Dinner details help me avoid that embarrassment. Hotel, on the other hand, helps me keep track of where I’m staying. When jet-lag hits, it’s good to have a handy reminder of where I checked my bags that morning.
Good news for this trip: There are only a few dates where the word ‘Hotel’ stands alone. (The fact that there are any dates where ‘Hotel’ stands alone makes my team crazy.) But, I’m not really nervous. The nights I still have to book are in places like Barcelona. If all else fails, I can just stay out all night. That wouldn’t work as well in China’s Guangdong province.
Can’t wait to tell you all about the trip!
