one by one® story: Wings of Eagles Ranch

For 24 years, Wings of Eagles Ranch has specialized in serving special needs children with equine-assisted therapy. Some special needs students have been coming to the Wings of Eagles Ranch for many years, like an 18-year-old student who has been a frequent visitor since she was four. Wings of Eagles Ranch also hosts summer camps every year and serves veterans and at-risk communities. For this year’s summer camps, they ordered water bottle giveaways as a practical gift every camper and volunteer could use all summer long.

Forming a bond with a horse is a wonderfully special experience. Each child rides the same horse every week and gets so excited when they see ‘their’ horse. As special needs kids form these relationships, their overall happiness and satisfaction grows and grows. Riding horses can also help develop core muscles and good posture. Many kids don’t have access to outdoor activities, so just being outside is a great thing for them.

Some kids who’ve never talked before said their first words while riding a horse. Some who never walked or crawled before were able to start walking or crawling after several months of horseback riding. While equine-therapy is the star of the show at Wings of Eagles Ranch, a highly anticipated event is the yearly summer camps.

Staying happy and hydrated with water bottle giveaways

During summer camp, kids with special needs can experience climbing a tower, ziplining, hiking nature trails and enjoying countless other activities. It’s an amazing experience that builds unforgettable memories for the kids and their parents. This year, Wings of Eagles Ranch wanted to give the campers—and volunteers—a practical gift they could use all through camp. Thanks to the 4imprint one by one® grant, Wings of Eagles Ranch was able to order enough water bottle giveaways for everyone.

“We have over 200 campers and volunteers during our summer camps. It gets hot here in the south and keeping everyone fully hydrated is so important. The water bottles are going to be very useful for our five camps this year,” said Julie Seidenspinner, Development Director at Wings of Eagles Ranch.
