Regardless of whether you are for or against the economic bailout plan(s), you can learn a bunch about how NOT to market an idea, product or service by looking at how those in favor of the idea have presented their case. It was referred to in today’s USA Today op-ed section as the worst marketing job since New Coke.

I have to agree.

All you have to do is think about the word choices that have been used to describe the package – ‘Wall Street bail out’ – or the complete inability of those in favor to make the plan personally relevant to the American public with clear stories and examples.

The whole thing is loaded with great ‘here’s what not to do’ advice.
