Last week I needed to find a dentist (I guess crowns you had put in 20 years ago don’t come with a lifetime guarantee!). Not having a long-standing relationship with a particular dentist, I decided to have a look around. Came upon Forest View Dental and for a variety of reasons, one of which being they were voted onto a ‘Best of’ list in our area, I made the appointment.

Came away very impressed. Super clean (a big deal for me with any health organization!), all-electronic (another big deal for a nerd like me), and the people were very, very friendly.

Anyway, yesterday got a very nice, hand-written, ‘welcome card’ signed by the people (including the Doctor) who saw me. In addition there was a business card magnet with information about their referral program. It was a well done piece, made even more effective because it ‘fit’ with my initial impressions of the organization. The same thing, done with mailing labels, timed poorly or done as well but with a clinic that was disorganized wouldn’t have been nearly as effective.

And best of all, this marketing piece really cost next to nothing to do. Some good ideas in there for all of us!
