There are so many worthy causes that need help. This one is particularly touching.

Canadian Association for Spiritual Care is using promotional flashlights to highlight its services. The Canadian Association for Spiritual Care in Oakville, Ontario, is focused on illuminating the path for those seeking spiritual support to help them navigate life’s darkest days. So it’s fitting that promotional flashlights are helping them raise funds and promote their services.

“We help people find meaning and purpose in the midst of crisis in their lives, regardless of whether they define themselves as spiritual, and wherever their meaning and purpose is located,” explained Moe Anderson, a certified spiritual care practitioner with the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care.

“We recognize that people, patients, families and clients who have the benefit of spiritual care during a crisis tend to do much better. They have lower recidivism rates and readmission rates, and they have an increased sense of wellbeing,” Anderson says. “And in terms of staff support, access to spiritual care creates better staff morale, helps to keep people engaged in their work and helps them cope with the stress of their environment as well.”

As a recipient of a 4imprint one by one® grant, The Canadian Association for Spiritual Care ordered promotional flashlights, customized with their brand, for participants of a nighttime run/walk fundraiser. Funds raised from the run/walk supported grants for people who want to conduct research related to spiritual care, such as understanding the needs of veterans post-combat, those suffering at the time of pregnancy loss and others facing life challenges. The research will help them understand best practices for those who have been traumatized.

“Providing flashlights to our members to participate in the walk was practical,” Anderson said. “But it’s also a very powerful symbol of what we do, which is to try and light the darkness and help people find their way in the darkness.”
