Charitable organizations work hard to help save lives in so many ways. It’s an honour for 4imprint to play a small part by providing free promotional items for nonprofits through the one by one® grant program.

In the stories that follow, nonprofits turn their free promotional products into opportunities, whether by helping other nonprofits or providing a fresh start to people who are overcoming difficult times. We found each story sparked hope and inspiration—and we think you will too.

Showing appreciation with a token of thanks

Wee Care Child Center helps children from 8 months to 12 years grow, learn, explore and thrive by providing full-time, part-time and causal childcare services to people in the community. Over the years, countless children have been provided with a safe, fun before- and after-school environment. They craft, take walks, play mini golf and do countless other activities.

To show appreciation to its 20 full-time staff members who help make sure these kids have a great experience, Wee Care gave them each a tumbler giveaway purchased with a 4imprint one by one grant. Working with a small budget, being able to thank staff with a tangible gift can make all the difference in keeping morale high.

Instilling self-confidence

The Betty Huff Theatre Company provides low-income, underserved students a structured after-school activity that builds confidence and self-esteem. Students receive training in everything theatre—from acting to singing to technical skills. As a reward and incentive to work hard, staff uses branded bags and other swag.

With help from a one by one grant that provides free promotional items for nonprofits, students also receive clip-on lights. As they wait for their turn to go on stage during a production, they use their clip-on lights to follow along with the script backstage where it’s dark. The swag they receive is a point of pride for students as it helps identify them with the theatre.

Funding other nonprofits

The United Way of Colchester County provides grants to other nonprofits so they can best help the community. Local nonprofits apply to the United Way for funds to help run their programs. One of the fundraisers is called Soup Fest. Local soup vendors provide a pot of soup and people buy tickets to sample and vote for their favourite.

With help from a 4imprint one by one grant, the United Way ordered soup mug giveaways as charity promotional items to promote the Soup Fest fundraiser. The mugs are used as a thank-you for participants.

Providing self-esteem and normalcy

Na’amat Canada Calgary provides children living in shelters with water bottles and school supplies. These children, with their mothers, typically are escaping a dangerous situation with nothing but the clothes on their backs. When they start a new school, they don’t have pencils, notebooks or anything to call their own.

With help from a one by one grant, Na’amat Canada Calgary provides water bottles along with a backpack full of supplies for these children. The water bottles help promote an invaluable sense of self-esteem. For many children, this is their first experience of ownership and normalcy.
