I have a confession to make. Up until recently I didn’t really like most reusable shopping bags out there. I agree with the concept and think it’s a great idea and a good way to conserve natural resources and all, but most of these ‘shopping bags’ were just tote bags made out of different material. They got the ‘durable but inexpensive’ part right, but totes are made mostly to carry documents, and a few odds and ends – not groceries or other items in most retail settings. As a vessel for carrying home the goods they just seemed to fall short somehow.
My how things have changed. Reusable bags 2.0 have hit the market, and they work! Once again simple design wins out – you can see these bags were designed by someone who actually had to get items from the end of a conveyor or out of a cart and into a bag.
