Creating trade show signs that draw trafficEmployee

Take a walk on the trade show floor, and you’ll likely see signage in countless shapes, sizes, colors and formats. With so many options to choose from, it can be hard to create signs and banners with the perfect look to complement your brand.

In this e-newsletter, we’ll explore how to craft signage that’s both attractive and effective at generating traffic and brand awareness. We discuss tips on imagery, color, content and more.

  • Imagery: Remember, your banner or sign directly represents your company. Make sure the imagery, fonts, colors and message accurately portray your brand image and coordinate well with the look and feel of your booth, advertising and promotional products. Choose branded colors or those that are complementary to your brand. And use secondary fonts sparingly. Complementary promotional items can help tie your look together. Swing USB Drives and drawstring backpacks come in a variety of colors and make great giveaways.
  • Display: Sign displays and exhibits come in many shapes, sizes and layouts to fit your trade show booth. Before designing, take into account whether your banner will be mounted, tied or placed in a special stand. Travel should also be a consideration. Roll-up, and retractable, banners are generally lighter in weight and portable—ideal for air travel. Exhibitor’s Choice owner Jared Joly reinforces this: “The days of big, heavy, hard wall designs are virtually gone. Simpler designs from aluminum frames with lightweight fabric graphics are more common. Exhibitors benefit from smaller, lighter packaging that results in reduced shipping and labor costs.”
  • Content: It can be challenging to tell your story in a limited space. Be sure to keep your message simple so it doesn’t get lost in the clutter. A headline, relevant bullet points and a call to action—perhaps to stop by for a chance to win a Bluetooth® speaker or Cell Phone Power Bank—should do. You can always imprint your banner or sign with a quick-response (QR) code that directs visitors to a landing page where they can obtain more information.
  • Lighting: Lighting can be used to highlight key areas of your booth or signage. Consider using spotlights or LEDs to accentuate your sign, or check out the Luminaire Tower Display, which has its own inner lighting system.

We hope these tips have been helpful. Give one or more a try to craft attractive, effective trade show signs. Good luck!
