|As the school year soon comes to a close, it is important to take a moment to thank the teachers and educators that make the year so memorable. Celebrate the important roles they play in the lives of students, and the things that they help students learn and achieve. To say thanks in a meaningful way, consider a teacher’s area of expertise –|
- Take pictures of the students individually and as a class. Choose pictures that were taken during birthday celebrations or concerts throughout the year, or take pictures in front of a ‘Thank You’ banner made by the children, so the teacher will remember each one of them.
- Encourage students to create artwork or write a short poem using words and ideas they have learned throughout the year to remind teachers how far students have come. Give teachers a binder or folder to keep them in to easily refer to their accomplishments.
- Work with students and parents to build a basket of goodies that reflect what their teacher enjoys doing in their spare time. Create a basket of gardening products, fitness gear, books or more.
- Collaborate with students and parents to cook and serve lunch for teachers and staff! Make use of the school cafeteria, and maybe even excuse students from their first class after lunch, to give them time to make it an enjoyable and memorable event for all. Teachers can even take leftovers to go!
