Clever Packaging

Have to tell you about this – it’s one of those ‘Wow! Why don’t they do this in Wisconsin?’ revelations.

I ordered a drink at McDonald’s®, recently, while traveling.  The cup was placed in a tall, slender, plastic bag with handles. (The food was in the standard brown paper bag.)

This is such a ridiculously obvious thing to do to help you carry the drink.

Usually, the food and drink are placed on a tray (which has always been good for the burger and bad for the fries, as they tip over).  Then, you have a precarious walk to a table as the drink wobbles and you start praying that it doesn’t completely fall over before you manage to sit it down.

A handled bag is a much better idea.  And, the bag also catches any spills inside, so you don’t end up wearing your drink.

Yes, I know plastic bags are viewed as bad for the environment, although I’m pretty sure these were made from biodegradable plastic. (Anyone from McDonald’s® want to confirm that?)

Feel free to pass this back to the person who came up with this idea.  It’s good.
