I just caught my first segment of Extreme Couponing this past week and I have to say, I was completely mesmerized. The concept of getting $800 worth of groceries for $50 is truly fascinating. However, I don’t think everyone has the stamina or time to stay on top of all those flyers and expiration dates. That could be a full-time job in itself! Either way, the concept of couponing is really catching on. Real-life stories of extreme couponing are popping up everywhere from mainstream news sites to personal blogs. Use this trend as an opportunity to promote your grocery store, retail store, restaurant or other establishment. You might offer “double coupon days” or exclusive in-store discounts.  Or how about a friendly game of “who can save the most”?

Start a coupon campaign in your store. Have your cashiers distribute these customizable coupons with each $100 purchase or more. Or hold a secret coupon giveaway in your store at random, unadvertised times to up the anticipation factor.
